Cable Remote Control
Cable Remote Control is the addition of an independent control circuit to allow for the remote switching of GCZ, GCH and GCO thermostats between comfort, economy or frost settings.
Heaters fitted with the GCO type thermostat module
Heaters fitted with the GCO type thermostat module using the cable remote control facility are often used in commercial environments controlling comfort heating for those periods when the environment is in use and economy frost protection at all unoccupied times.
The GCO module is a hard wired dual electronic thermostat which can be controlled from a central timer or building management system to provide frost protection and maximum comfort of 24ºC.
A PIR (passive infra red) detector can also be used to switch between comfort and economy temperatures, when intermittent use of the building requires irregular switching of temperatures. Where regular time control is required as in the office environment then a simple time clock or full energy management system will switch between the two temperature settings.
